The design of the Tempest Lantern's tempered glass enclosure channels the oxygen required for combustion, increasing the flame speed for a spiral-like display of fire. The Tempest Lantern's practicality and usage are equally as stunning as its innovative design. The changeable flame reaches 17 inches in height and emits up to 20,000 BTUs. The 18-inch-tall, four-sided, open-air tempered glass container is meant to prevent the flame from extinguishing during high winds or heavy rain, but it also features an automated gas safety shutdown valve in the event that the flame does extinguish. The Tempest Lantern offers many display possibilities for a customized appearance: short or tall post versions, wall-mounted, and without a base for those who wish to build something unique or exploit an existing feature.
